Liz Miranda and Tim Rempel: Developer

Liz Miranda and Tim Rempel are the wife and husband team that developed and launched the sustainable development company Greenpads in 2005. 5th Street pads is their first in-fill sustainable project together.which was released in 2005 in West Berkeley, California.  Liz is the main partner responsible in spearheading and guiding the development's property development process and final market delivery. Liz also has managed other development projects for developers and consults  on various aspects from entitlement, community relations, to branding and marketing. Liz has over 25 years experience as a Creative Director/ Senior Branding Strategist where she managed brand and creative implementation for various companies from Agilent, Wired, Disney to Chronicle Books. Liz's particular experience as a Branding Strategist and Designer is key to positioning Greenpads product offerings distinctly from others.


Tim Rempel: Architect

Rempel Architects

Tim Rempel has practiced architecture in the Bay Area for over 20 years.  Rempel Architects - formerly Rempel + Lao Architecture with Antonio Lao - espouses a modernist approach to designing sustainable residential and commercial buildings and interiors. The practice focuses on innovative exploration of materials and building methods in their design expression. Tim is also a furniture designer and expert woodworker whose hands-on experience with custom fabrication has lead to an emphasis on craft and detail expression in the work.  Besides the practice of architecture, Tim's interest in theory and education has resulted in teaching/critic experience at UC Berkeley,CCA, Rice University, as well as UFM in Guatemala.
